Interview: Wardrobe Wednesday

Hi bloggers and readers!
Really freaking cute and awesome was the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show last night? I loved it and my favorite band; Fall Out Boy did an amazing job. Today, I got a chance to catch up Miss Anna. I met Anna in 2011 when we studied aboard together in Paris. Her style is super cute and her personality can literally brighten everyone’s day. Check out Anna’s top 5 places to shop and ohhhh it’s Wednesday so make sure you grab a glass of wine and call it “Wine down Wednesday”. Make sure you all follow her and enjoy!

CC: Hi love, what does style/fashion mean to you?
Anna: “Fashion to me is just a way to express your own personal style. A person’s choice of dress says a lot about them therefore I find it important to keep it fun and easy and showcase my personality. I have never been one to be designer focused but more so whatever catches my eye and makes me feel happy and confident.”

CC: How could you describe your personal style?
Anna: “I have been told time and time again that I dress like a kid straight out of the 90's. I have a very casual style and like to be comfortable. I focus a lot on layering and playing around with different silhouettes. I am overall obsessed and I love chunky boots. My closet is filled with girly prints, chunky knits, oversize tee's, high-waisted skirts and minimalistic dresses.”

CC: What inspires you to get dresses in the morning?
Anna: “I am not going to lie, getting dressed is one of the best parts of my day. It sets the vibe for how the rest of my day is going to be. If I am in the mood to be cozy I will probably end up wearing a pair of skinny jeans, a baggy sweater and sneakers. Some days I am in the mood to feel ultra-feminine and will end up walking out the door in a dainty daisy printed sundress and loafers.”

CC: What items do you splurge on?
Anna: “The last item that I splurged on was a really nice jumpsuit. I tend to find myself spending more money on items where it is important that the fit is right for my body. When the fit or style is more complex I don't mind spending more money in order for it to flatter my body type. Other items that I typically spend more money on are denim and a great pair of booties.”

CC: Top 5 pieces for fall?
1. An oversized coat
2. Plaid scarf
3. Over the knee socks
4. Dr. Martens (or Dr. Martens inspired booties)
5. Pleated schoolgirl skirt

CC: Top five clothing stores you shop at?
1. Zara
2. Topshop
3. Crossroads Trading
4. Urban Outfitters
5. Nordstrom

CC: Describe the inspiration behind the leather skirt and stripe shirt outfit?
Anna: “The inspiration behind this outfit started with my Vans sneakers. I was definitely in the mood to be extra comfy and I knew I was going to be walking a lot that afternoon, hence the sneaker choice. It seemed only natural to pair them with a mini skirt and I am always a fan of leather. To keep the outfit simple and laid-back I threw on a classic striped long sleeve tee and my favorite black beanie.”

CC: Describe the inspiration behind the plaid skirt and varsity jacket outfit?
Anna: “I was headed to the pumpkin patch with my friend to pick out some pumpkins to carve later in the week. It only felt right to pick out the most fall-like piece in my entire wardrobe... the plaid schoolgirl skirt. I wore it with one of my favorite trendier items in style right now, the varsity jacket. To stay true to my inner 90's child I threw on a turtleneck cropped top and called it a day. To be honest, I wore my chucks to the pumpkin patch because the dirtier they get the better.”

CC: Lastly, The Prevailing Effect is someone who has prevailed and overcame many obstacles in life to get where they are today. Do you consider yourself a “Prevailing Effect”?

Anna: “I would like to think of myself as a prevailing effect! I pride myself in following my heart, working hard and being independent! It has been quite the crazy, unpredictable year but I am more than happy to have ended up in LA and wouldn't have wanted it any other way”
